Process Transition
International,
Inc. is a company dedicated
to helping
organizations with their process improvement efforts. Before
founding PTI, our technical team, as former members
of the SEI Process Program, worked closely with Watts S. Humphrey
(author
of Managing the Software Process) in developing the SEI-style
assessment
method and, as part of the SEI group, helped create the original
version
of
the Capability Maturity Model®. With the introduction
of SEI's new Capability Maturity
Model® Integration (CMMI®), PTI became a member of the
SEI Partner Network and now also offers authorized
CMMI® training and SCAMPI(SM)
appraisals.
![]() As authorized SEI
Lead
Appraisers,
PTI's senior technical consultants not
only helped develop the first assessment method, but have conducted
numerous CMM and CMMI based courses and appraisals on three continents,
and are active contributors to the community
of technology transition and its management through research, writings,
and presentations.
PTI's team members have
been
working for more than
20
years with companies worldwide in process improvement and risk
management, applying their experience to
help organizations focus efforts to meet their goals for better
productivity and higher quality.
Our qualified technical team, with its wide background of
research, development
and training, continues to design workshops, courses and seminars
specially oriented toward enriching and enhancing the technical world.
Because of
the need for
practical
and user-friendly books on software process improvement,
Process
Transition International, Inc. established a publications arm in 1995
with
its first book, the widely used A Guide to the CMM®
and, in
March 1997, the Assessment Coordinator's Handbook,
followed by
a
Spanish translation of the Guide to the CMM, Una Guia del CMM:
Comprender
el Modelo de Madurez de Capacidad del Software in November
1997. PTI's most recent
publication is A Guide
to the
CMMI®: Interpreting the Capability Maturity Model® Integration, 2nd edition (based on the CMMI
v1.2).
